Associate

Kevin Schaffner’s design experience has had a particular focus in the aviation sector, having served as a general consultant to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). He was responsible for developing the initial design concepts for the airport’s Automated People Mover (APM) and Intermodal Terminal Facility (ITF) in coordination with their Master Plan Update. As part of this multi-modal project, Kevin helped to produce drawing packages through the design development phase, coordinated design team and consultant progress through construction documents, and provided design oversight throughout the construction process. This included interaction with various agencies, including the FAA, FDOT, and the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) in order to comply with necessary regulations. Additionally, he was responsible for coordinating the strict rail requirements at the ITF for the future facility tenant, All Aboard Florida. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Master of Architecture program, Kevin has quickly proven to be an asset to the aviation and transportation sector across several LS3P offices. His notable recent projects include the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport’s public parking garage and ConRAC and renovations to the Charlotte/Douglas International Airport’s Concourse E.
