Jim Williams is Design Principal for the LS3P Charlotte office and leads the Metropolis Studio, which provides investment-based solutions for development of the urban fabric. He is responsible for creating the interior and exterior architectural tone and expression for projects ranging from corporate offices and mixed-use urban, multi-phased projects to upscale commercial retail venues, public libraries, and recreational and wellness facilities. He brings recognized talent in creating distinctive architecture that is respectful of context and culture. In his 30 years of practice Jim has produced many award-winning projects. His expertise is in placemaking and integration for mixed-use projects that are unique, easily marketable, and memorable.

Jim has served as a regional and national panelist for Urban Land Institute colloquia. He presented “Placemaking” in Washington, D.C., and was a Technical Team Member of Charlotte’s “Area Plan for Historic West End.”
