A lifelong resident of Wilmington, Chris learned the value of design at an early age, through the eyes of his architect father, Charlie Boney.  He has continued his family’s commitment to improving the built environment, contributing to the community, and to fostering issues of social equity.

As Chief Relationships Officer for LS3P, Chris focuses on firmwide business development and oversees large projects across diverse sectors.  His work has been recognized with Design Awards from AIA Wilmington, AIA NC, and AIA Southeastern, we well as Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Awards for exceptional design and sustainable building practices.

Since graduating with degrees in Architecture from NC State and the University of Virginia in 1997, he has practiced architecture in Wilmington.  He has served as Principal Architect-in-charge of buildings such as The Wilson Center for Performing Arts, Betty Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Live Oak Bank Headquarters.

Active in both the state and local business community, Chris has completed terms as President of AIA Wilmington, Chairman of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Wilmington Planning Commission, and Chairman of the Battleship North Carolina Commission.  He has also served on the Board of Trustees for the Cameron Art Museum, Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, and Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation.  In 2020, he was appointed to serve as a founding Trustee for the New Hanover Community Endowment, responsible for stewarding $1.25 Billion toward issues of Social and Health equity in the community. Chris is the LS3P Foundation Board Chair formed to further the profession.
