As a principal at LS3P and leader for our Healthcare and Technology Studio, Becky Smith leads a group of talented team members specializing in delivering healthcare facilities such as hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, and medical office buildings. She also has experience in the design of education, research laboratories and health sciences facilities for both corporate and higher education clients.

Becky brings more than 25 years of diverse experience in all facets of programming, planning, construction documents, project management, and construction administration which can be applied to projects depending upon her needed role. Working on nursing labs, patient simulation labs, and surgical labs for allied health projects has been a successful blending of Becky’s healthcare, sciences, and higher education expertise for allied and health sciences.

Having graduated from Clemson University in 1985 with her Master of Architecture degree, Becky worked for a year in Tokyo as an intern architect along with her husband..She also lived and worked in her home town Asheville, NC; Atlanta, GA, and Laramie, WY prior to settling in the Charleston area in 1994. Becky is active in her neighborhood association on James Island, and Grace Episcopal Church. She enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, camping, hiking, kayaking, and swimming.  She continues exploring the world with her husband and two adult “children” to nourish the family’s appetite for travel. Most importantly, Becky enjoys actively working with clients and the design teams to provide meaningful solutions to project challenges.
