This project encompasses the renovation of approximately 15,800 SF within the existing 21,220 SF Science Building on the University of South Carolina Sumter Campus. The scope includes upgrades to four adaptable laboratories—Microbiology, General Biology, Physics, and Anatomy & Physiology—along with associated preparation rooms. Additional improvements involve restroom and office suite renovations, as well as refreshed corridor finishes.
An underutilized lobby has been transformed into a dynamic student space featuring breakout study areas, casual seating, and experiential graphics. Building-wide enhancements include new mechanical and electrical systems designed to meet current code requirements and improve energy efficiency, with infrastructure in place to support future renewable energy upgrades.
Accessibility has been brought up to current ADA standards, and exterior improvements—both aesthetic and functional—establish a cohesive vision for future campus-wide modernization efforts.
