Tri-County Biological Science Center
The Tri-County Biological Science Center is a forensic laboratory developed through a partnership between Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties. Delivered through a design-build collaboration with Contract Construction, the facility is dedicated to the efficient processing of DNA evidence, supporting timely and accurate analysis of materials collected from crime scenes.

Forensic Technology and Accreditation
Designed to support advanced forensic operations, the center incorporates specialized technology and staff resources that help connect DNA evidence to suspects and, in some cases, exonerate wrongfully accused individuals. The project was guided by goals of sustainability, resilience, and fiscal responsibility while meeting the rigorous accreditation and validation requirements necessary for state and federal evidence processing.

The completed facility supports the region’s forensic infrastructure by providing the capacity and resources needed for DNA evidence processing. Developed to meet the standards required for state and federal evidence analysis, the center plays a critical role in strengthening forensic services across the tri-county region. The project achieved a One Green Globes certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainable and responsible design.
