Self Regional Healthcare Support Services Building

Greenwood, SC

The SRH SSB is a 65,000 SF, 4-story administrative office building that includes a 2,500 sf data center, cafe, board room, and staff training room. Self Regional Healthcare (SRH) enacted an aggressive schedule and the project was delivered with a fast-track approach.  The design process began in November 2011 and construction was completed by November 2012.  The project scope was divided into multiple construction packages to enable local contractor participation within a 45 mile radius from Greenwood.

The project centered on several design themes.  Situated on a corner site, SRH requested for the maximum potential of the site with 30% green space and 70% building and parking.  The exterior building materials needed to be consistent with the adjacent hospital campus buildings.  The assemblage of these materials needed to emphasize a blend of traditional and contemporary architectural elements.  Programmatically, the project consolidated and co-located once disparate hospital departments that were sprinkled throughout the city.  The result includes increased efficiency and improved communication.  This was further supported by interior transparency and open workspaces with maximum daylight.

The Support Services Building project is a linchpin for several other major SRH Greenwood campus projects that began upon its completion.
