Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies Ribbon Cutting
In spite of the rain last Thursday night, the Rock Hill / Sunset Park community showed up for a well-attended celebration and ribbon cutting of the new Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies, officially opening the doors! A special presentation included honoring past SPES school Principals and School Board Members. The school also honors the past through the experiential graphics.
SPCAS is a 2 story, 132,875 SF, 930 student capacity PK-5 on-site replacement school. A prototype of Jackson Creek ES in Columbia, SC, SPCAS includes 6 classrooms per neighborhood grade level and a neighborhood for exceptional children, central Media Center, Dining/Performance space separated with a skyfold partition, and a Multipurpose PE Gym. Art, Music, Gifted & Talented, Resource Rooms, and multiple Flex spaces are included as well. 13 experiential graphic moments are in the process of installation.
