We were honored to celebrate last week the groundbreaking of the Spark Learning Center, ArtSpace Charter School’s newest addition and an exciting investment in innovative learning opportunities for students across Western North Carolina.

 

The Spark Learning Center will provide a unique hybrid and remote learning environment designed to support diverse educational pathways. The facility will serve both virtual and in-person learners throughout the region with dedicated on-site support, flexible learning environments, small-group instruction spaces, family engagement areas, and opportunities for personalized learning experiences.

 

Dr. Sarena Fuller shared a heartfelt reflection on the school’s journey, from conversations around a picnic table 25 years ago to the thriving institution it is today, having impacted thousands of students through its commitment to arts-based education. ArtSpace Charter School remains a cornerstone of creative learning for Buncombe County and the surrounding region, continuing to inspire and shape future generations. The ceremony included a meaningful community tradition where staff and supporting members contributed soil from places important to them, helping connect the school’s past, present, and future.

 

This project has been a truly collaborative effort, and we are grateful to partner with ArtSpace Charter School and RYSE Construction in bringing this vision to life. A special thanks to our LS3P team members Cheyenne Kalb, Benji Martin, Maggie Carnevale, Charisma Stidham, Katherine Howell-Kiser for their creativity, dedication, and contributions throughout the design process.

 

We look forward to watching the Spark Learning Center take shape and seeing the meaningful impact it will have on students and families throughout the region for years to come.
