Contemporary Inspirations
Developed in collaboration with Morris Adjmi and Method Co., the 50-key hotel draws inspiration from the English, French, Spanish, and Italian traditions woven throughout the city’s architectural fabric, translating these precedents into a sophisticated expression of Southern hospitality. Residential-style guestrooms and suites are complemented by thoughtfully curated communal spaces, including a lush interior courtyard, library lounge, cocktail bar, listening room, private event venue, and rooftop bar with sweeping views of the Charleston skyline.
Design Details
The hotel’s design leverages advanced precast concrete technology to reinterpret historic forms with a contemporary sensibility. A sculpted panelized façade features distinctive arched windows that echo the building’s roofline, while a striking GFRC canopy establishes a memorable presence along King Street. Historically inspired compound curves, wood-framed storefronts, and recessed detailing create a seamless dialogue with the surrounding streetscape, balancing innovation with contextual sensitivity. The result is a boutique hotel that honors Charleston’s architectural legacy while introducing a fresh and enduring vision for urban hospitality.
