Expanding Aviation Maintenance Capacity
Developed through a design-build partnership between LS3P and Roy Anderson Corporation, Project Titan Hangar 3 adds approximately 167,000 SF of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul space to Pensacola International Airport’s growing aviation campus. The facility was designed to increase operational capacity while supporting efficient aircraft servicing and long-term industry growth within the region.
The hangar is capable of accommodating two wide-body aircraft simultaneously and can be reconfigured to service up to five narrow-body aircraft as operational demands require. In addition to aircraft maintenance areas, the facility includes a central shop core, administrative offices, employee support spaces, and specialized maintenance functions that support day-to-day operations. Site improvements include aircraft aprons, taxiway connections, roadways, utility infrastructure, and a 300-space parking area, creating a comprehensive operational campus for aviation tenants and maintenance personnel.
Design Details
The facility was designed to support efficient operational workflows while providing flexibility for a variety of maintenance activities. The expansive hangar space accommodates multiple aircraft configurations, allowing operators to adapt to changing service demands and maximize operational efficiency. Supporting functions are strategically organized around a central shop core, creating clear adjacencies between maintenance, administrative, and employee support areas.
Beyond the building itself, the project integrates critical aviation infrastructure that strengthens connectivity across the airport campus. Aircraft aprons and taxiway connections provide direct access to airfield operations, while roadway, utility, and parking improvements support daily activity and future growth. Through close collaboration with project stakeholders, the design delivers a highly functional maintenance environment that supports operational efficiency, reduces aircraft turnaround times, and positions Pensacola International Airport for continued expansion within the aviation industry.
