Parking Garage C & Consolidated Rental Car Facility

The Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) Parking Garage C project delivers a 1,500‑space, five‑level parking facility strategically located adjacent to the terminal building. Designed as a dual‑purpose structure, Garage C expands the airport’s parking and rental car capacity while reinforcing GSP’s established campus identity and customer experience standards.

The garage provides 750 new public parking spaces and 750 ready‑return rental car spaces within a consolidated rental car facility. Two lower levels are dedicated to rental car ready return, including a full‑service Quick Turnaround Area (QTA) that supports efficient vehicle drop‑off, fueling, washing, and servicing. A modern rental car transaction lobby anchors the customer experience, complemented by reserved spaces for premium rental car customer pick‑ups that streamline arrivals and departures. The two upper levels are dedicated to premium public parking, offering convenient access to the terminal.

To enhance the public parking experience, the garage incorporates Park Assist technology, allowing customers to quickly identify available spaces and reduce circulation time. This technology improves wayfinding, minimizes congestion, and supports a more intuitive parking experience for travelers.

A central focus of the project was the thoughtful integration of GSP’s established campus‑wide architectural and interior design standards. The design team recognized the importance of these standards to the airport’s long‑term brand identity and worked closely with GSP leadership to thoughtfully incorporate them throughout the new facility. Particular attention was given to the Rental Car Customer Service Area (CSA), where finishes, interiors, and detailing reflect the same level of quality and consistency found in the terminal and concourse environments.

Key materials and patterns from the main terminal were carefully carried into Garage C. Terrazzo and tile patterns used within the terminal were replicated in the CSA flooring to create visual continuity between facilities. Toilet room finishes and detailing within the Customer Service Building align with those used in the terminal and concourse, reinforcing a cohesive passenger experience. Where new finishes were required, LS3P selected materials that complement adjacent existing finishes, maintaining continuity while supporting the functional demands of the garage environment.

By extending GSP’s design standards across Garage C, the project strengthens the overall campus identity and contributes to a unified environment that avoids being easily dated by short‑term trends. The result is a facility that balances operational efficiency, customer convenience, and long‑term brand consistency.
