Earlier this month, David Foxe presented a paper on the architectural history of the former InterContinental hotel in Hilton Head, alongside a colleague from Auburn University who examined earlier decades of the brand’s hotel development across Latin America. Attended by more than 100 participants, the regional Southeast Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians conference featured sessions spanning topics from Savannah to Singapore and explored physical, fiscal, and cultural histories, as well as more unconventional and paranormal approaches to historical study.
