As LS3P’s firmwide Technical Leader, David Loy brings over 37 years of experience in technical design and project management to his role as a trusted resource across all sectors. In this position, David provides strategic support for code compliance, construction detailing, consultant coordination, and quality control, while also partnering with LS3P’s Risk Management Leader to assess technical issues related to project liability. 

David is passionate about helping clients navigate the design and construction process. He views each project as an opportunity to be invited into a client’s world—solving problems, contributing to meaningful solutions, and helping bring their vision to life. His approach emphasizes collaboration, trust, and teamwork-based building experience. 

Prior to his current role, David served as Operations and Finance Manager in LS3P’s Charlotte office for 12 years, where he led diverse teams on some of the firm’s most complex and integrated A/E-Owner-Contractor projects. His portfolio includes academic institutions such as Johnson & Wales-Charlotte, corporate headquarters for Lowe’s and Electrolux, high-rise commercial developments, retail environments of all scales, and healthcare facilities for major medical systems. 

David holds a Master of Architecture from Clemson University and is known for his thoughtful leadership, technical precision, and commitment to mentoring others. He is actively engaged in refining construction documentation standards and supporting firmwide initiatives to improve technical workflows and mitigate risk.
