A Conversation with…Rachel Knudson

 

Tell us about your role at LS3P.

I am an Associate/ Senior Interior Designer on the Commercial Team in Raleigh.  I design and coordinate with the project team to provide beautiful spaces with clean details.

What’s your favorite hometown restaurant, and what should I order if I go there?

DiMaio’s  – Meatball Parmigiana- Berkeley Heights, NJ

What’s inspiring you right now?

Music and lighting.

What are the greatest challenges we’re facing in the industry?

Forecasting the future.  What are the next best practices for office spaces?

What is your superpower?

Creating details.  I find it fun and challenging to figure out how things go together.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your role?

The only bad question is the unasked one!  As for a designer, push to get integrated early in the project.

About Rachel

LS3P Associate Rachel Knudson is a highly skilled, well-rounded designer who brings 21 years of commercial interiors experience and four years of furniture industry experience. Rachel excels at working with clients to program and organize spaces, working through details and material specifications to achieve her clients’ aesthetic and budget requirements. She brings extensive experience at all project stages from programming through construction administration.

Rachel’s significant portfolio of commercial work shows her aptitude for both detail and function. As evidenced by her award-winning projects including the One City Plaza renovation and Albemarle Building renovation, her designs “work” for her clients. Rachel is a member of IIDA and serves as Revit Captain for the Raleigh office; she has leads the office’s annual We Care volunteer event for the Boys & Girls Club and is a regular volunteer for Activate Good.
