Tell us about your role at LS3P.

I have the absolute privilege to work with the best teams at LS3P. As the Healthcare Marketing Manager, I get to support an incredible team of thoughtful and inspiring healthcare designers AND collaborate with our unparalleled team of marketing professionals. And no, I don’t think I am overselling it here.

What’s inspiring you right now?

Being outside always inspires me. Having just moved from Savannah to Raleigh, I am learning to replace my beach time with trips to parks and greenways. Mountains will be in my future very soon.

What are the greatest challenges we’re facing in the industry?

Healthcare delivery and healthcare design are grappling with pressures from pandemics, to equitable delivery of care, to climate change, to keeping the doors open while navigating complex revenue streams. Attracting and retaining talent in an industry in flux has become pivotal in a conversation often now dichotomized and at the center of our national discourse. Our team strives to design safe and welcoming environments that help balance these demands on our clients.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your role?

Try new things, be curious, and don’t be afraid to speak up. I had never worked with our healthcare team before stepping into this role, but by asking questions, researching, and being open to new challenges I have found great professional fulfillment.

What is your favorite hometown restaurant, and what should I order if I go there?

In Savannah, definitely check out Bull Street Taco and order the Spicy Cauliflower. Or Pizza Vittoria in the Starland District. That is the shortlist, if you want the long list I have a google doc for that!

What previous job outside of architecture taught you the most?

AgriFeed Pet Supply. During the recession in 2009 I had to move back to my mom’s house and worked in retail. I had plenty of previous retail experience, but working there after having worked in the professional world taught me humility and the importance of being happy where you are planted. It was a great team of co-workers and hefting 30lb bags of dog food all day was a great way to work off rejection letter frustrations!

What is your superpower?

I consider myself more of a jack of all trades.
