230 South Tryon is a 13-story residential condominium project and an example of an office building conversion to residential use. The 1971 building was stripped down to steel and concrete and re-clad in pre-cast concrete with granite accents and stucco above. The new design is neo-traditional and reminiscent of the condominium buildings found along Park Avenue in New York.
The project is comprised of ground level retail and 110 condominiums. A variety of floor plans range from 530 SF studios to 4,000 SF penthouses. The residences feature nine to ten-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, high quality kitchen cabinets and custom granite countertops.
Urban lifestyle amenities include as a doorman, a dry cleaning service, cyber cafe, salon, clubroom, fitness center, and a South Beach-style swimming pool. Nearby is an upscale restaurant with outdoor dining on Tryon Street and a roof terrace bar. Assigned parking in an adjacent deck provides one parking space per bedroom.
