Overlooking the tranquil marshlands along the Cooper River is the headquarters for
Motley Rice, a nationally recognized law firm. The double-story grand entrance lobby is clad with Venetian stucco, Makore wood wall panels and patterned granite floors. The elevator core is expressed and articulated with wood architectural panels rising through all floors of the building as a way-finding device for its occupants. The state-of-the-art mock courtroom and conferencing areas are fully equipped with audiovisual and teleconferencing equipment concealed within feature millwork pieces. A pull-out touch screen for operating multimedia digital presentations slides into the apron of the custom conference table when not in use. To provide an upscale modular office environment, a wood and fabric furniture system with doors and indirect ambient lighting was designed for all non-partner positions. Beautifully detailed recessed file units line the corridors outside each partner’s office, allowing individual office suites additional filing storage.
