The College of Dental Medicine at MUSC exists as a teaching facility with a
clinical component, including several replicas of standard dental offices, known as
“operatories,” to provide students with hands-on teaching forums.

Each floor has break-out seminar spaces for group instruction, and resident study
areas to provide space for students within the clinical environment. Satellite
imaging centers are on each floor to provide departmental efficiency.

The building features a Central Imaging Department with seven operatories and CT
capabilities. The Restorative Dentistry floor features forty-two open operatories and 1,400 SF of state-of-the-art prosthodontic laboratory space. Residency programs
and specialty dentistry research areas are located within the building, as well as a
large central sterile department, student spaces, and central administration.
