Winthrop University Owens Hall

Winthrop University Owens Hall

LS3P was selected to design a new three-story classroom building addition to be located within a courtyard behind Bancroft Hall. The new 32,220 sq ft annex serves a number of students’ academic needs under one roof and features two 100-seat lecture rooms, eight 69-seat classrooms, and eight 33-seat classrooms. Each of these rooms are equipped with smart technology, and all academic units utilize the facility. The building also includes a large computer lab, two conference rooms, a student lounge and office space. The new classroom wing’s design incorporates a Neo-Georgian facade that blends with the nearby Phelps Hall and provides a new “front door” for the complex.

LS3P has also been involved with the reconstruction and restoration of Owens Hall due to fire damage in Spring of 2010.
