New Hanover Regional Medical Center | Women's and Children's Hospital

Wilmington, NC

New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s project goals were to provide a new Women’s and Children’s Pavilion (+/- 200,000 SF) with a distinctive community identity and to provide a “state of the art” Surgery Pavilion (+/- 173,000 SF) replacing 24 outdated operating rooms and providing a new central sterile processing to support the facility. That was all accomplished and the new Women’s and Children Pavilion now provides labor delivery recovery and c-section rooms, postpartum beds, high risk ante-partum beds, neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, pediatric transitional care, pediatric beds, and GYN/Oncology beds that were formerly located in their existing patient Tower. Relocating these beds has assisted the network in renovating their existing Patient Tower 220,000 SF (9 Story) to increase the overall number of private rooms at the facility.
