Chapin Presbyterian Church is a young church that has outgrown the elementary school facilities they had been using. LS3P provided master planning services and phase one design work on their 14.7 acre site. The design of the master plan will maintain the character of the heavily wooded site.
Phase I is a 2-story building that features a 600-seat sanctuary, fellowship space, and education space. The design of the common spaces incorporates a Main Street concourse concept with second floor balconies overlooking these areas. The kitchen, restrooms, and other support spaces are all located along the edge of the building, making all the other areas in the center easily reconfigurable. Future phases include expanding the sanctuary to 1,200 seats.
