The new design/build 136,152-square-foot Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing barracks at Fort Jackson provides 186 suite (1+1E) accommodations for 372 Drill Sergeants. Each suite includes two private sleeping rooms, walk-in closets, and a share bathroom and kitchenette.
The three-story barracks is highly functional; the central corridor system interconnects five stairs that provide convenient building access from the parking lots and courtyard. Sitework features in the central courtyard benefit the Instructor Trainees and create an optimum environment for instruction. Provided are two large shelters for shade during periods of recreation, two covered picnic shelters with adjacent barbeque grills and a section of troopwalk within the courtyard for instruction practice in forming up platoons.
This project is LEED Silver, includes Comprehensive Interior Design (CID) and site infrastructure developments to include site grading, utilities, roads and parking.
