The new design/build 360,000-square-foot AIT Barracks project is situated on an 11-acre site. Each 180,000-square-foot building has a Command Module and Company Operations Facility (COF) module that is separated by firewall from the residential barracks (600 beds) housing Soldiers attending AIT training. Each building also has an attached Covered Training Area.
Separate entrances are provided for the single-story Command Module and the floor plans are well organized to separate building functions and provide mission clarity. The Computer Learning Centers and Dayrooms are stacked at the center of the building and adjacent to the vending area and elevators.
This project is LEED Silver. The site includes a quarter-mile running tack, four 18,500-square-foot Physical Fitness Training Areas, 211 POV parking spaces, roads, sidewalks, and student bus drop-off drives.
