Slide background

The Butterfly Project, also known as the Children’s Holocaust Memorial Sculpture, honors the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust. The sculpture is adorned with over 2800 ceramic butterflies created by local faith, school and community groups.  LS3P led the design process and facilitated the collaboration between the sculpture artist and contractor.

LS3P created the computer model which was used by both the artist and the pre-cast contractor who produced the formwork for the sculpture. This moving place of reflection is located on the campus of Shalom Park School in Charlotte, and is used for private, public, civic and religious groups to promote tolerance and provide educational workshops about the Holocaust.
