Quail Hollow Club is the host of the perennial PGA Wachovia Championship held in late April. In anticipation of the event, the club wanted an expanded pool and pavilion complex that would be completed in time for the event. LS3P and RT Dooley completed the fast track, design-build project in seven and a half months.
The project is a two-level 15,000 SF addition to Charlotte’s premier club designed in the same classic Jeffersonian architectural style as the original club built in 1967. The pavilion houses social dining areas, commercial kitchen that serves both the pool area and the members’ dining room, changing facilities, pro shop, storage and terraces. The outdoor pool, children’s pool and decks are surrounded by fencing, decorative walls, pergolas, planters and party cabanas. A 1,600 SF gallery connects the pool pavilion to the main clubhouse. Terraces surround the pavilion and extend to the new swimming pool and children’s pool. The project also includes expansion of service yard and new parking and motor court.
