Laurel Ridge Kitchen Renovation

This phased renovation project created a light-filled, modern space for a retired couple with a strong affinity for contemporary design. The existing traditional residence, 2,500 SF and sited on Paris Mountain, features views into downtown Greenville. The new design transformed a dark and divided space into a bright, open floor plan characterized by simplicity and functionality.

Phase I of design and construction focused on replacing an existing living room fireplace with a new linear firebox, mantle, and surround that created functional artwork in the space. Phase II opened up the kitchen and breakfast rooms, allowing for more light and a large kitchen island with breakfast bar. Creating a pass-through to the dining room admitted more counter space and storage as well as making the kitchen feel even larger and brighter. Recessed and updated lighting fixtures cast abundant light throughout the room. Updated cabinets, white marble countertops, and stainless steel appliances complement the space’s sleek, contemporary style.
