Greenville County Fine Arts Center

Greenville, SC

The Fine Arts Center of Greenville County provides advanced comprehensive arts instruction to students from district high schools. Students attend their assigned high schools for academic studies and travel to the Fine Arts Center for advanced studies in the arts.

The 65,000 SF facility houses a variety of program spaces for visual arts, creative writing, theater, film/video, dance, and music. In addition to working studios for ceramics, painting, printmaking, photography, and 3D metals, the building includes multiple studios and practice rooms with acoustics designed for voice and instrumental studies. A complete woodworking shop, a film/video studio, and editing rooms work in conjunction with a 210-seat recital hall and black box theater to provide students with an intensive pre-professional program of study.

Clerestory windows and a striking raised roofline allow natural light into the expansive 2-story lobby. The central gallery features a variety of changing exhibits from the school’s permanent collection as well as traveling collections. Corridor galleries showcase the work of both current and past students.
