Charles Boney, FAIA, LEED AP

Charles began his service to the firm in 1978, interrupted by a 2-year graduate program at the University of Pennsylvania. In returning to the firm, he pursued winning commissions for a diverse portfolio of projects including K-12 education, healthcare, historic preservation, higher education, and civic clients. Notable projects in the aviation and transportation sector include designs for the Wilmington and Morehead City Ports, an aviation museum plan for the Old New Hanover Airport, comprehensive renovations of the current New Hanover County Airport, and the UNCW parking deck. With extensive experience in all phases of project management from schematic design to delivery, Charles is particularly adept at bringing life to projects with contextual design issues.

Charles has a longstanding affinity for aviation designs; his first date with his wife, whose father Harold “Hoss” Dobbins was one of the first pilots for Piedmont Airlines, took place in the old New Hanover County Airport Terminal.
