CENTENNIAL CAMPUS MIDDLE SCHOOL
This project represents a unique collaboration between Wake County Public Schools and North Carolina State University. This 600-student middle school, located on NCSU’s Centennial Campus for research and development, was developed in conjunction with the university’s College of Education and Psychology.
This cooperative partnership creates an ideal educational community with a dynamic technological environment. The program divides students into grade-level houses within the school, creating a sense of place and providing a secure, welcoming, smaller-scale academic setting. Shared spaces include a cafeteria, gymnasium, and an “exploratory house” with project-centered spaces for art, dance, music, and other electives.
