209 West Congress Street was constructed in 1855. Throughout its history, the building has been an active retail establishment. Seeking to build on its rich history, B&D Burgers acquired the site in July 2011. The owners decided to fully restore the building in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. In addition to carefully renovating the exterior and interior, the project transformed the adjacent surface parking lot into a vibrant outdoor dining venue. The project has received approvals for State and Federal Historic Income Tax Credits and Property Tax Freeze programs.
