LS3P & Dawson Architects of Savannah Merge

We are thrilled to announce a merger with Dawson Architects of Savannah, GA effective  April 1, 2016!

This merger brings our total number of offices to eight, expanding the firm’s presence, portfolio, and expertise in the region. Firmly rooted in the Southeast for over fifty years, we currently provide services nationwide from our offices in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington, NC. For a transitional period of one year, the Savannah office will be known as LS3P Dawson.

Dawson Architects brings over 16 years of experience in higher education, historic preservation, hospitality, commercial, and civic projects. Thompson E. Penney, FAIA, LS3P’s Chairman|President|CEO, notes that this strategic partnership will integrate over 300 talented architects, planners, interior designers, and support staff. “LS3P has always had a coastal heritage and a culture that is rooted in the Southeast. Dawson Architects has a very compatible culture, with diverse experience and a strong focus on design excellence, client service and community involvement,” Penney explains. “This merger gives us a stronger presence in Savannah and coastal Georgia, and allows us to combine strengths with a well-respected citizen, architect, and friend.”

Dawson Architects was founded in 2008 as a spin off of Dawson & Wissmach, a firm co-founded in 1999, and is passionate about creating historically, socially, and environmentally conscious designs. Neil Dawson, AIA, Principal of Dawson Architects, believes that the merger will allow the firms to share diverse knowledge, broad portfolios, and extensive expertise.  “We are excited to blend the talent and dedication of our incredible staff with the opportunity for growth and expertise in a variety of market sectors. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing firm that is nationally admired and respected as one of the country’s top architecture firms,” Dawson says.

Following the merger, Dawson will become an LS3P Principal as well as the Savannah Office Leader.
