The lender to veterinarians, and now dentists and pharmacists, is doing so well it is proposing a nearly 32,000-square-foot headquarters building to accommodate its growing Wilmington work force.
The bank is buying 10 acres from the MacRae family near Alderman Elementary School, said James “Chip” Mahan III, Live Oak’s president and CEO.
“I want to build a unique Southeastern North Carolina building,” he said. The building – designed by LS3P Associates in Wilmington – will be constructed partially of cypress, Mahan added. “Everybody will have their own office.
