LS3P’s Charles Boney, Jr., Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

LS3P is proud to congratulate Vice President and Principal Charles Boney, Jr., FAIA, on winning a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Wilmington Real Estate Summit & Awards. Boney was recognized for his significant contributions to the built environment of eastern North Carolina; these include spearheading design efforts for numerous K-12 and higher education projects, championing historic preservation of treasured buildings throughout the region, and serving as the “voice” of architecture for 6 years  while hosting the bi-weekly public radio program “Talk About Architecture.” Boney is also widely known for his service to the profession of architecture, working towards greater inclusiveness, diversity, and community engagement in each professional role. Boney joined the firm founded by his grandfather, Lesley N. Boney, in 1982; Boney Architects and LS3P merged in 2005. The annual awards event was held at the Wilmington Convention Center on November 28, and celebrates people and projects based in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender Counties.

LS3P’s Live Oak Bank Headquarters project also won top honors for New Commercial Construction projects. This multiple-award winning project is a 36,500 square foot office building designed to integrate seamlessly with its environment, and to preserve as much of the undisturbed site as possible. The building features natural light and views from every workspace, a 50-seat tiered digital conference room, a fitness center, a double-height employee lounge, and indoor/outdoor workspaces.

We are extremely grateful for great clients and dedicated employees that continue to exceed our expectations.  We’re thrilled to celebrate these significant achievements.
