LS3P is pleased to welcome Shawna Hammon, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, who joins the firm’s Raleigh office as an architect. Hammon’s previous professional experience includes project work for diverse research, higher education, healthcare, and corporate clients. Notable local project work includes the Raleigh Convention Center, the Green Square project, and the General Administration Classroom Building at Wake Technical Community College’s new RTP campus. She also brings significant academic experience as a professor of digital representation and design camp instructor at NC State University.
Hammon earned a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Applications: Visual Arts (Summa Cum Laude) from NC State University. A 2012 recipient of NC State University’s prestigious Kamphoefner Fellowship, Hammon has also been recognized with the national 2016 Emerging Professional Honor Award from AIAS, the Future Leader’s Fellowship for Emerging Leaders, and 4th place out of over 350 international entries for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s competition in Shanghai, China with a wood skyscraper entry.
Her professional outreach includes the AIA Triangle Young Architect’s Forum (former Chair); the AIA Triangle Leadership Forum (Co-Founder), and NC State University’s chapters of AIAS (Graduate President) and US. Green Building Council Students (Co-Founder, Co-President). Hammon also published “Tall Wood Survey: Identifying and Analyzing the Obstacles of Perception” in the Perkins + Will Research Journal, and presented her research at the 2015 ARCC Conference.
