Cape Fear Community College’s plan to bring a new campus to eastern Pender County is moving forward, as pencils hit paper and sketching of the first building on the long-awaited Alston Burke Campus in Surf City is set to begin soon.
Architectural design firm LS3P Associates LTD, which has an office in Wilmington, has been selected to design the campus.
On Tuesday, the CFCC staff had its first design meeting with the architects.
Eric McKeithan, CFCC’s president, said the meeting involved developing concepts for the master plan for the campus and exploring possibilities for the location of the first building on the N.C. 210 site donated to the college.
