Chairman Emeritus

Michael is Chairman Emeritus of LS3P’s Board of Directors, and contributes a wealth of experience in all phases of design and practice management.  With a Bachelor of Architecture from North Carolina State University and graduate work at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Mike is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a member of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina State University Design Foundation.  As a former member of both the Long Range Planning Board for the Research Triangle Institute and the Historic District Commission for the City of Charlotte, Mike is experienced in dealing with complex issues, and enjoys deriving a methodological approach to their solutions.

Mike is particularly skilled at designing mixed-use and corporate environments that attain a sense of community and lasting benefit because they are based on contextual solutions. Notable projects include extended work at the Research Triangle Institute, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and Volvo Heavy Truck Corporation.
